Husbands...Pray for your Wives - 31 DAYS
Day 1
"That she might become a holy woman, a woman of prayer, mature in the Lord,
growing in her knowledge of the Lord."
Relating scriptures: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-23, Colossians 4:12, Ephesians 1:18-19, 3:16-19, 6:18
1 Thessalonians 5:16-23: Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Quench not the spirit. Despise not prophesyings. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless into the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray for your wife, that she will be joyful, give thanks in all circumstances, and pray continuously. This is God's will in your life. Pray that her spirit stays thirsty for the word of God, and that she will not turn against the prophesies. Pray that your wife will test the truth in everything, and hold onto only that which is found good, and that she may not surround herself with any element of evil. Pray that God's peace will sanctify her through and through, and that her spirit and soul and body will be found blameless in the presence of Jesus.
Colossians 4:12: Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ, sends greetings, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.
Pray that your wife knows that Christ's servants are always lifting her up in prayer so that the will of God will be manifested through her life and she may stand mature and assured of her salvation.
Ephesians 1:18-19, 3:16-19, 6:18: I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength. | I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. | And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Pray for your wife to be enlightened in her heart of the things for which God has planned in her life, and that she may have faith that the Lord will bless believers as a work of His mighty power. Pray that your wife be strong in the Spirit so that Christ may live in her heart and that she will have an understanding of Christ's love for her enough to know that she will be filled with the Holy Ghost. Pray that she will seek her Heavenly Father through prayer so that she will always be alert, and that she will also pray for all other women as well.
Day 2
That she might grow in all 11 descriptions of a woman who will not be shaken
as listed in Psalms 15.
Psalms 15: Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your Holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.
Pray for your wife that she be blameless and practice those things that are righteous. Pray that she will be truthful and offer commendation and flattery instead of slander and backbiting. Pray that she loves others as she loves herself, and that she will not insult her fellow man. Pray that she does not yolk herself with non-believers, and that she detests vile, sinful, vulgar men and women but that she will value those that are God-fearing. Pray that your wife will keep her promises even through difficulty. Pray for her that she will not place importance on material possessions, and that she will help others to the best of her ability.
Day 3
That she might be a woman of contentment
as seen in Proverbs 15:16, Phil 4:11, 1 Timothy 6:6-8, Hebrews 13:5.
Proverbs 15:16: Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.
Pray that your wife values more her relationship and faith in the Lord than any worldly possession, for it is always better to have strong faith and little material gain than to have great worldly riches and no fear of the Lord.
Philippians 4:11-13: I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
Pray that your wife learns to be satisfied and happy no matter what her situation may be, knowing that the Lord will always provide for her needs and from God's grace, pray that she will know that anything is possible.
1 Timothy 6:6-8: But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
Pray for your wife's contentment... that she will not place great emphasis on that which she does not possess, but rather that she gives thanks to the Lord for providing her needs.
Hebrews 13:5: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
Pray that your wife will have the understanding that God will never leave or forsake her, and that her happiness is rooted in her faith, rather than in her money.
Day 4
That she might learn to take every thought captive,
to not be conformed to the world's thinking and to think scripturally.
Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 10:5
Romans 12:2: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test an approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Pray for your wife, that she allows herself to be molded into God's perception instead of mans, and that she always remembers that she was created in the image of God. Pray that she finds her own destiny that the Lord has paved for her, and that she seeks to fulfill the Lord's will in her life.
Corinthians 10:3-5: They all ate the same spiritual food, and they all drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered over the desert.
Pray for your wife to not accept the actions of other seemingly righteous men and women, and that she knows what the Lord expects from her by studying the Word, and living by its laws rather than by man's expectations.
Day 5
That she might daily seek God with all her heart,
walking in the Spirit moment by moment, growing in her dependence on Him.
Psalms 119:1-2, Proverbs 3:5-6
Psalms 119:1-2: Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord. Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.
Pray that your wife will live her life in the way that God intended, always keeping in mind the laws written by the Lord as outlined in the Bible and working to always live up to those statutes, wanting to please Him in everything that she does.
Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Pray that your wife will trust God rather than her own judgments and conclusions, and that she will always consciously include the Lord in everything that she does so that her path will be a righteous one.
Day 6
That she would ever be captivated by your love.
Proverbs 5:18-19
Proverbs 5:18-23: May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful dear- may her breasts satisfy you always, my you ever be captivated by her love. Why be captivated, my son, by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man's wife? For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths. The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sin hold him fast. He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.
Pray that your wife may always hold true to her vows. Pray that she may find delight in your company for as long as you live, and that she may never commit the sin of adultery, physically or in lust. Pray that your wife knows the Lord is an all-seeing and all-knowing God and that our actions are always in His sight. Pray that your wife never be led astray from her commitment to you.
Day 7
That she would be a woman of courage.
Deuteronomy 31:6, 2 Chronicles 19:11
Deuteronomy 31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Pray that your wife be strong in faith and fear nothing but the Lord. Pray also that she may be courageous in spirit, knowing that God will always be at battle with her.
2 Chronicles 19:11: Amariah the chief priest will be over you in any matter concerning the Lord, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael, the leader of the tribe of Judah, will be over you in any matter concerning the king, and the Levites will serve as officials before you. Act with courage, and may the Lord be with those who do well.
Pray that your wife will know her leaders, and will follow only those strong in faith who fear the Lord. Pray that your wife will act with bravery in her spiritual battles and that her understanding will be that the Lord will be with her so that she may always prevail.
Day 8
That the Lord might give her wisdom to lead her family physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
Ephesians 1:17-19
Ephesians 1:17-19: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints; and what [is] exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power
Pray that your wife may be shown the Lord's calling in her life... her purpose... her destiny. Pray that she may know what her spiritual inheritance is; what the Lord has had in store for her, and that your wife may realize how wonderful the Lord is to His children that believe and have faith in Him.
Day 9
May she always look at the plank in her own eye before seeing other's sawdust.
Matthew 7:3
Matthew 7:3-5: Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your bother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye," when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Pray that your wife may notice her faults and look to God for a change in her own life before finding fault in others. Pray that she may be a humble woman and that she lives with humility, that she may allow the Lord to work on her. Pray also for your wife that she may find her own salvation, then be a tool for the Lord to work through her in ministering to her brothers in Christ. Pray for understanding for your wife, that she knows only through Christ will she be righteous and only through the blood of Jesus will she be forgiven. Once the Lord has broken and built her, pray that your wife will have a desire to testify, that she may make a difference in the lives of others, but only in the will of God.
Day 10
That she might become a called woman, not driven, with well thought through and
prayed through goals in life.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
1 Corinthians 9:24-27: Do you not know that in a race, all the runners run but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
Pray that your wife may recognize her purpose as set forth by God, and that she does not allow herself to get trapped in worldly incentives, but that she will go into training spiritually so that she may come out a winner in the ultimate competition... Pray that your wife will set goals for herself that will allow her to develop a closer relationship with her Heavenly Father, and that she will always pay close attention to her calling.
Day 11
That she might be a woman of prayer, guarding her heart and mind,
putting into practice what she has heard, seen and learned.
Phil 4:4-9
Philippians 4:4-9: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me- put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.
Pray that your wife will always find joy in the peace and love that God covers her with. Also, pray for your wife that she may understand God's unconditional love, and that it may guard her heart in Christ. Lift your wife up in prayer that she may think about those things that are of the Lord- His peace, truth, purity, righteousness, nobility, admiration, excellence, and that which is worthy of praise. Pray that your wife will take heed the things that she has learned through her relationship with Christ and that she will practice those things throughout her life so that God's peace may be with her; pray for her that she may never be anxious, but always confident in her requests to the Lord so that she always gives thanks for those things that have been, that are, and that are to come.
Day 12
That she might stand firm against the schemes of the devil and resist Satan in all circumstances.
Ephesians 6:10-18, James 4:7
Ephesians 6:10-18: Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
James 4:7: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Pray for your wife to be strong in faith and full of truth so that she may stand her ground against the evil in this world, and that she may be ready to face any circumstance with peace, confident in her salvation. Pray that your wife may always remember to pray for her brothers and sisters in Christ, and to trust the Lord to help her in her struggles. Pray also that she will submit to the Lord's will in her life, and that even through adversity, she stands firm in Christ so that Satan will have no hold on her.
Day 13
That she might grow in spiritual maturity by putting away childish things, cultivating, understanding, striving after the Christ ideal, partaking of the deeper truths of the gospel, and overcoming temptation.
1 Corinthians 13:11, 14:20, Ephesians 4:13, Hebrews 5:14, 1 John 2:14
1 Corinthians 13:11, 14:20: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil, be infants, but in your thinking, be adults.
Pray for your wife, that she may look to the Lord for guidance now that her childhood has past and her adult responsibilities are relevant. Ask that through her knowledge and spiritual training that she finds maturity but is able to regard herself in evil as an infant that is pure and innocent.
Ephesians 4:13: It was he who gave some ... to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up] until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Hebrews 5:13-14: Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
1 John 2:14: I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one.
Pray that your wife is strong enough to overcome the temptation of worldly pleasures so that she may be one in union with those who compose themselves with the complete measure of Christ.
Day 14
That she might make you holy, cleansing you by the washing with water through the word.
Ephesians 5:26
Ephesians 5:22-28, 31: Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by washing with water through the word and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wide, and the two will become one flesh.
Pray for your wife, that she may allow you to act as the head of the family, and that she may love you as Christ loved the church. Pray that she makes you holy and blameless by loving you unconditionally and seeing no flaw in you, but only beauty and perfection. Pray that your wife will learn to submit to you and respect you, so that your are able to know that she is one flesh with you. Pray also that she loves you as she loves herself, wholly and completely, regardless of circumstance.
Day 15
That she would learn to not depend on her circumstances for happiness but on God alone.
Hebrews 3:17-19
Hebrews 3:17-19: And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest is not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
Pray for your wife's faith and obedience to God, that she will believe firmly in the Holy Spirit, and that her faith will be strong in the Lord. Pray that she will find all of her actions in compliance with the expectations of God and that all of her intentions are pleasing to our Heavenly Father.
Day 16
That she would be a woman who enters into spiritual warfare.
Ephesians 6:11-12, 1 Thessalonians 5:8
Ephesians 6:11-12: Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Thessalonians 5:8: But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
Pray for your wife so that she may always be ready for a battle within herself and against the world around her. Pray that her daily attire always includes the armor of God so that she may be a threat to evil and a benefit to righteousness. Ask that she love her brothers and exhibits self control in all circumstances so that the Spirit of God shines through her actions in every situation.
Day 17
That she might have new strength in the midst of her busy schedule
and that the Lord might infuse her with His strength.
Isaiah 40:31, Ephesians 3:14-19
Isaiah 40:31: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Ephesians 3:14-19: For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Pray for your wife, that she may find her place on her knees in constant submission to the Lord's Word. Pray for her so that she may find her strength in Christ and not attempt to base her abilities in the idea of her own strength. Pray in Jesus' name for the spiritual fulfillment, and that she may find her destiny, trusting in the Lord's guidance and allowing her actions to be led by her faith. Ask the Lord to show her how to make her heart to be rooted in love and compassion so that she may understand all that is encompassed in the Love of Christ.
Day 18
That she might have a burden to see lost people come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Matthew 28:19-20
Matthew 28:19-20: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Pray for your wife that her desires are of God, that she seeks to further God's kingdom in any way possible. Pray that she is guided by the hand of the Lord so that she may always be a missionary, giving testimony even without words- that all of her actions emit the Spirit of Christ. Pray that your wife may be blessed to have a hunger to be a fisher of men- that her strongest need is to bring lost people to know Christ as their savior as she does. Pray for her understanding of Jesus' teachings so that she may have a clear thought to speak in the ear of those who will listen!
Day 19
That she might be a woman responsible for family spiritual growth.
Proverbs 4:1-14
Proverbs 4:1-14: Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding. For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
Pray for your wife that she will not turn away from God's laws but rather will always live by Holy doctrines and keep God's commandments so that she is able to live, and not perish! Pray that she will be a woman of family- that she will never forsake you (as her husband) and that she will love you so that you are able to make her a spiritually 'kept' woman. Pray also that she will exalt and embrace you so that you may promote her and make her honorable before the Lord. Pray for your wife so that she may recognize the grace and glory the Lord bestows upon her as a result of her strong family spirituality! Pray that she values you as she values her own life, and that she will not be led astray from her solemn promises that she has made in the form of her vows to you.
Day 20
That she would be kept from strange women and evil men
and that her friends would be men and women who walk with God.
Proverbs 13:20
Proverbs 13:20: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed. A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment. He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes. The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
Pray for your wife so that she will walk in the path of wisdom and righteousness! Pray that your wife will place more importance on her relationship with her family and her closeness with her children than making money and providing for them financially. Pray that your wife will be selfless in her actions and that her reasoning and rationale will be that of a person whom is content regardless of the circumstances she stands in during her life! Pray for your wife so that she will seek the Lord's guidance in raising her child(ren) so that she may understand how to chastise her child in love, not anger!
Day 21
That her self image might be a reflection of the Lords thoughts toward her.
Ephesians 1:17-19, Romans 12:3, Psalms 139
Ephesians 1:17-19: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.
Romans 12:3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Psalms 139: O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Pray for your wife that she may be wise and have revelation in knowledge of God; that she be enlightened with the gift of understanding so that her purpose and calling are apparent to her. Pray that she may think of herself humbly and soberly, realizing that without God, she is nothing. May your wife turn to God rather than away, so that she will act out of SPIRIT and not out of FLESH! Pray that your wife will know that God is omnipotent, and knows her inside and out- and that God is with her in day and in night. Pray that your wife will seek deliverance and salvation and be lead into a life that will glorify the Lord and make your wife worthy of everlasting, eternal life in God's Kingdom!
Day 22
That she might learn to love as God has commanded.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7, Romans 12:8-10, Ephesians 5:25
1 Corinthians 13:4-7: Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Pray for your wife, that she understands that love is kind, patient, and endures the test of time, but is not envious, boastful, or proud. Pray that she knows love is not rude, self-seeking, or easily angered; and love keeps no records of wrongs. Pray for your wife so that, like love, she does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth! Pray that she will always protect and trust you and that she maintains her hopes and perseveres through the difficult times.
Romans 12:8-10: Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another
Pray for your wife to be the best of what she is... that she will strive for perfection in every area where God has touched her heart. Pray that if it is encouraging, let her encourage to the extent of her ability... if it is contributing to others' needs that she give generously... if it is leadership, let her govern diligently... if it is showing mercy that she will do it cheerfully... Pray that her love is sincere and that she detests everything evil and savor all good things. Pray for her to show love to her brothers and sisters in Christ, including those who are lost, and that she will honor others above the honor she has for herself.
Ephesians 5:23-31: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Pray for your wife that she accepts your role as head of the family, and that she may possess knowledge of the expectations of the Lord in reference to your rule over her and that she may have wisdom and discernment in her understanding of her own submission to you. Pray for her to love you as Christ loved the Church... pray that she will sanctify your marriage and keep it clean and holy, being that your union is recognized by God the Father in heaven! Pray that your wife desires for your marriage to be without flaw or blemish, as she desires for herself... and that she will nourish and cherish you as she does herself. Pray that your wife understands that she must leave her father and mother and join her flesh with yours so that you two will become one under the Lord.
Day 23
That she might not be deceived into unbelief, sin or bitterness.
Matthew 13:8-10
Matthew 13:8-15: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Pray for your wife, so that she may hear, see, and comprehend the teachings of Jesus Christ and perceive those teachings for what they are. Pray that she seeks understanding and enlightenment so that she is never deceived by the serpent to go against what the Lord has commanded of her. Pray that your wife will never be tricked into sin or bitterness toward the Lord. Pray that your wife may hear and learn with her heart and soul, rather than with her ear and her mind so that she may be converted and find salvation and that she may be binded back from her brokenness through Jesus' healing power and forgiven through the blood of the lamb!
Day 24
That she might grow in humility and being a shepherd.
1 Peter 5:2-6
1 Peter 5:2-7: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Pray for your wife so that she may be a shepherd to the Lord's flock, setting an example with her ways and overseeing their spiritual growth... not because she must, but because she is willing; not to gain wealth, but simply out of her eagerness to serve God; not to exhibit power, but simply to provide an example of the Lord's work to those in need of divine inspiration. Pray that your wife knows that in doing these things, when the Lord calling upon her to come home, she will receive a crown of glory for the souls she has won, or attempted to win for the Lord's house. Pray that your wife is willing and able to submit to those who are older and gain from them the wisdom they offer. Pray that she will live in humility so that she may be lifted up by the Lord and all of her needs cared for!
Day 25
That the fruit of the Spirit might be exhibited more and more in her life.
Galatians 5:22-23, John 15:8
Galations 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
John 15:8: Herein is my Father glorified that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
Pray that your wife has a spirit of love, joy, peace, gentleness, longsuffering (perseverance), goodness, faith, meekness (humility, humbleness), and temperance so that she may stand firm in the face of adversity, knowing that there is no force at work against her that may overcome her because of the glory of the Lord! Pray that your wife may glorify and worship the Lord, teaching by example and allowing others to see Christ in her simply by the fruit she bears [that people may draw the conclusion from her actions that she is a disciple for Jesus Christ!].
Day 26
That she might grow daily in character.
2 Peter 1:5-8
2 Peter 1:5-8: And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray for your wife that her character be full of the Body of Christ. Ask that the Lord touch her heart so that her satisfaction lies in growing spiritually and deepening the understanding of Christ's principles and doctrines. Pray that she will be a woman of faith, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, godliness, brotherly kindness, self-control, perseverance, love, and charity! Pray for your wife to be a woman that is kept in the Word of the Lord.
Day 27
That she might keep a clear conscience.1 Peter 3:16-18
1 Peter 3:16-18: Keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit.
Pray for your wife that she may live in a way that allows for her conscious to be clear of guilt and shame. When others speak ill words toward her and slander her name, they will be ashamed. Pray that your wife may have the strength and faith to trust in the Lord, understanding that she may suffer doing good, just as she would suffer doing evil... pray for her knowledge of the purpose of her good deeds- that she may not sell her soul doing wrong to get ahead in the world... that she may further the Kingdom of Heaven so that she may get ahead in the Spirit. Pray for your wife to be brought to God, gracious to the Lord for her sacrifice so that we all may be forgiven... pray that she lives her life showing her thanks to Jesus since He was put to death in the body but made alive in the spirit so that when our bodies die, we are given spiritual life eternally!
Day 28
That the Lord might protect her, guarding her course.
Proverbs 2:8
Proverbs 2:8: For he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Pray for your wife, that she may be protected and guided by the Holy Spirit... that her faithful ways have shown her to be just and righteous and that the Lord has placed the blessing of wisdom to shine a light on her path and a blanket of security to ensure her safety in all circumstances!
Day 29
That she might learn to manage her time well.
Ephesians 5:15
Ephesians 5:15: Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise.
Pray for your wife to learn to not waste her time on things that are unnecessary or irrelevant to her purpose. Pray that she may be diligent in choosing the things which she uses to occupy herself so that her life is spent productively working to share Jesus Christ with her brothers and sisters in Spirit! Pray for her to be blessed with wisdom and discernment in dealing with her daily trials.
Day 30
That the Lord would put a song in her heart.
Psalms 33:3, 40:3, Job 35:10
Psalms 33:3, 40:3: Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
Job 35:10: But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night
Pray for your wife that she may have a song of praise and worship in her heart... a hymn of Jesus Christ possessing words that will put the joy and fear and love of God in the hearts of others. Pray for her desire to share her testimonial song with those to whom the Lord leads her.
Day 31
That she may have a holy fear of God.
Psalms 34:11, 111:10, Proverbs 9:10
Psalms 34:11, 111:10: Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Pray for your wife to fear the Lord and use that fear to channel in herself the precepts of God so that she may praise the Lord eternally. Pray for her wisdom and understanding so that her knowledge of the Holy Spirit is a blessing she receives graciously and humbly. Pray that through her holy fear of God that she may dedicate herself to sharing God's presence in her life with her brothers and sisters... both those who are lost and those of faith!
